Life in contemporary Russia is full of surprises. At every turn of the road sometimes one finds an adventure or a mystery and sometimes one finds a disaster in the making. MY JOY tells the story of an ill-fated truck driver, Georgy (Victor Nemets), who takes a wrong turn on a highway and loses his way in the wilderness of the Russian countryside. In trying to find his way out and back to the civilization he knows, Georgy encounters a number of local inhabitants each with a story to tell. Amongst his encounters he meets a heart-broken war veteran, an aggressive teenage prostitute, numerous corrupt police officers and a mysterious Gypsy woman. It becomes a trip where brutal force and survival instincts overcome humanity and common sense as Georgy unwittingly heads towards a dead end.
