Lee Kang-Sheng is an internationally renowned actor whose acting style has received praises from audiences and film critics alike. His long-term working relationship with director Tsai Ming-Liang as well as other prominent Asian directors such as Ann Hui and Lin Cheng-Sheng has inspired his creativity and spurred his interest towards the path of film directing. In 2003, drawing upon his filmmaking experience as an actor, he made his directorial debut with the feature film THE MISSING (2003) which won the New Currents Award at the Pusan International Film Festival and the Tiger Award at the Rotterdam International Film Festival.
